Justin Sun, the CEO and founder of Tron (TRX), is notorious for fueling hype around his crypto projects through uber-bullish tweets and bold claims and statements.

In his latest hype-generating tweet, Sun claims that Tron already occupies 2% of the total Tether (USDT) supply, and will surpass Ethereum’s 10% USDT supply in Q2 2019. Ending the tweet on a very bullish note, Sun stated that Tron will reach 50% of USDT in 2019.

Will Tron’s USDT Surpass Ethereum’s USDT by Q2 2019?

Sun is exuberant over the accomplishments of the Tron-Tether collaboration, which led to the launch of the USDT stablecoin on Tron’s blockchain on April 17. While Sun gets easily excited over any development with Tron, the Tron-Tether collaboration is actually proving to be quite successful.

Just 5 days after the launch of USDT tokens on the Tron blockchain, they have already occupied 2% of the total supply (50 million out of 2.5 billion USDT). This actually is quite an accomplishment, as the USDT supply on Ethereum is just 10% of the total supply.

If Tron manages to maintain this high level of USDT, adoption the Tron-USDT supply may very well increase 5x to reach 10% by the end of Q2 2019, overtaking USDT-Ethereum.

If Tron does manage to surpass Ethereum’s total supply of USDT by Q2 2019, Sun’s ambitious goal to reach 50% of the USDT supply by the end of 2019 may not be that far off.

Do you think Tron will surpass Ethereum’s USDT supply by Q2 2019 and obtain 50% of USDT by the end of the year? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.
